Paul Vargas, 29, was busted after police recognized his car as one that had been spotted for months in a stalking investigation in Indian Orchard, Springfield police said.
Officers pulled over Vargas's car in the 100 block of Seymour Street just after 6:30 p.m.
They found more than 11 grams of cocaine, a firearm magazine, a firearm silencer, more than $1600 in cash, more than 330 bags of heroin, and more than 11 grams of black tar heroin, police said.
Authorities charged him with:
- Firearm-armed assault to rob
- Heroin trafficking
- Possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug
- Possession of a firearm silencer
- Possession of ammunition without an FID card
- Stalking
Vargas was previously charged with heroin and cocaine distribution charges as well as open and gross lewdness but was out on bail, Springfield police said. He was previously convicted of open and gross lewdness.
